In a potter's life nothing can compare to the moment of the kiln opening. My electric kilns reach the desired temperature (cone 6/1222 C/2232 F) in about 10-12 hours and the cooling usually takes more than that. I can't describe the excitement when I finally, finally open the kiln and see how my works turned out.
